Hillside Meadow Lodges is an extension of Hillside Caravan Park, which was founded by the Cook family in 2005 as a farm diversification project to help support the farming enterprise. The farm has been in the family since 1966, during which time three generations have farmed dairy and beef cattle and then progressed to solely arable land from 2003. After many years of happy caravanning trips around the country and experience of running two Certificated Location sites, when the opportunity to diversify came, setting up a caravan park seemed the obvious choice.
The caravan park opened in summer of 2006 with touring caravan pitches, purpose built amenities block and caravan storage facility run by the owners Chris and Pat. Over the next few years, various expansions took place. Additional touring pitches, a holiday cottage and holiday apartment, a reception area and coffee lounge, additional wet rooms as well as Glamping Pods were all added to the portfolio at Hillside.
The next and largest venture was the development of Hillside Meadow Lodges which opened in spring 2018. These owner occupied Holiday Lodges provide a perfect location for those wanting to make a bigger commitment to holidaying in North Yorkshire. Hillside Meadow Lodges has followed the same ethos as the caravan park, ensuring that the set up makes life as easy as possible for the owner so that they can focus on relaxing whilst on their holidays. Gas is piped to the site to alleviate the need for bottles, the plots are spacious and each one has a charming view of the hills that surround the park and everything is finished to high standard to keep the park looking neat and tidy.
To cope with the increasing workload, our team of staff has expanded to keep both the Caravan Site and Lodge Park running smoothly. Mark and Ruth, children of Chris and Pat both work for the family business, along with Tom, Megan, Christine and Jac who all live locally.
